Law enforcement departments have to deal with staffing and logistics. Whether they modify schedules, or start paying the OT is up to them. In Arizona it feels fairly quiet this past week. I did detect a moble photo radar unit ahead of time on Ka that was attempting to get traffic just the other day.

In my town the 8 LEOs per shift have been more worried about responding to accidents lately. We got nailed with about 8 inches of snow the other night and some back roads are still crappy. People seem to think that because their vehicles have 4 or all wheel drive they're invincible. A lot also like to run the same tires all year round.

I'm in texas and all I've really noticed of an increase is on the main highways and mostly laser or instant on. Lots of the normal pass buys of k band left on by fwpd but no more than normal. I do however expect that when I drive up to my parents for christmas this weekend that DPS will be out all over the place. And of course the lil ticket town of estilinne will be in full force.

During the cold months Toronto cops are 10 times more active with conventional radar than spring-fall days, laser being almost out-of-service... also up here we have the RIDE program (DUI checkpoints) for the Christmas and New Years Eve party goers..

If it has, I haven't noticed it. In the past couple of weeks, the only cops I've seen were just on general patrol or were working accidents. I imagine that they'll probably start looking for DUIs in earnest starting this weekend and probably running all week through New Year's. I even live in an area that has a reputation for being a speed trap...so go figure.

down here in western australia the so called crack down period has begun as of last night and won't end til 6th january and i've had already had more radar activity in one day then i have in a fortnight.first one was an I/O but was running at the speed limit that was my first I/O encounter and my god did it scare the s**t out of me with a full k band blast at full volume, picked up two more highway patrol cars that were already with clients, then spotted several undercovers and about 6 or 7 marked cars all within about 4 hours of on/off driving.i know this sort of activity may b normal in the states but over here it's pretty full on,just gonna set the cruise control to the PSL and ride this one out.

I'll have to post the video tonight. I missed the shooter the first time so I looped around to make sure it wasn't a false. It was HPD shooting from an overpass. Hadn't seen that down here yet.
The vid was lame. Cant' see anything. Just an alert and me looking around like an idiot.

A few things in the last 2 days

    1) KA from 90'...barely any warning and then full blast CO (because I was perpendicular to the officer. Was doing 20 in a 60, so no problem there (traffic)

    2) K band 30km/r POS (on ramp), was going WTF?!?!, and then saw him around the bend. Picked it up pretty well. I was going 40 though, doing 30 is dumb and the officer knows that =) <--no points if he were to bust me anyways.

    3) 1 bar KA band alert...no cop in sight, and then went away. I've never had a KA false in Toronto yet...so...I don't know!

    4) K band hit in Waterloo. Didn't really care...haha
