    Default Who sells the most?

does anyone know approximate sales numbers by each company? who is actually selling the most?

if I had to guess I would say that cobra's sales figures are the highest despite them having the worst product. I would put RMR up there too with all their ridiculous radio ads.

Especially if you include cobras other products, definitely yes.

I think Cobra would be the highest, Belscort would be the middle, the others would be significantly lower. I don't think RMR has much going for them -- they're pricey and might even get on the moral side of the average buyer if they believed it actually jammed police equipment

I don't know... I've seen quite a few people with rmr radar detectors and those damn phazer 2 ads run alllll the time, and knowing how stupid people are, it wouldn't surprise me if they were making a killing with those things.

Killing yes one of the top moving companies I wouldn’t think so. I never herd an AD TV or paper for the RMR ever. The only time I her of them is by Roys sight bashing them.

    Maybe # 10?

They are quite expensive. Most people wouldn't think to drop more than $100 on a detector, and it's not like detector tests are easy to understand or easily found for the average person at the electronics store. During the black friday sales, I had a number of people ask me about the various $20-$50 Cobra ESD-7000's on the market and whether or not they are worth the money. Grr.

eh, maybe its just around here then, but I hear the phazer 2 ads almost everyday on the radio, and they make it sound like if you have one you will be invisible to cops.

it must be frustrating for the other companies that actually focus on improving their products to be outsold by cobra who focuses on coming up with bogus features.

I think Cobra are the most famous and many people get Cobra as their first rd because of their low price...
But after awhile they realize that they need a better rd

I know my first couple or RD's were cobras because I believed what I read and really thought they were the best. That was before the internet made so much info available. They both worked well for the day, but this was before Ka band.

my intro to rd before I came here is from a friend in so cal with an older cobra. Not sure what it is but he told me he would always aim to buy the best cobra on the market not because it is the best rd, but because they last a long time. He would rather buy an rd that lasted 4+ years without any issues then pay the same amount for a better radar detector like a bel that would last 1+ years.

Everyone has their reasoning and logic, and if you think about it he has a good reason for getting a cobra. If you pay $200 for an rdd that will last 3+ years vs $200 for a better one that will last only 1 year why not get the 3+ year one? it has more value even if it isn't the best on the market like a v1.

people buy cobra for more than just cuz of their ads or that they are in more stores.
