I for one actually drive slower since I installed my RD. After seeing all the speed enforcement out there, it's a miracle that I didn't have more tickets prior.

Dude, not that I am going to argue that people with RD's drive faster or slower than people without them but you are clearly saying "I don't speed... I only go X over the limit". No offense but that is speeding.Originally Posted by rose1
I guess you're right licemel. The way i see it is like this, there's a difference between driving careless and reckless driving and speeding. I think I'm a very careful driver.
What's funny is that I believe (in my experience) that the people with RDs (except for cobras) are the better drivers on the road. Of course there are exceptions, but people who actually know a little about radar detectors are generally pretty good on the road. They have good situational awareness.
That's exactly the point I was making. People just accept the absurd speed laws because they think, "Well the laws are okay because I don't REALLY violate them, I only do XYZ", when the reality is that they are accepting rules that they knowingly violate and expect to continue doing so. If they were ever completely enforced (however impossible that would be), these people who support them would be shocked and probably wouldn't support them anymore...Originally Posted by licamell
I don't know if it is just an impression :
Junior Leos are more brainwashed about Psl ...thay have the spirit '' I will save the world '' .... this suggests those Leos are ex-crazy-drivers , like ex-smokers who have a very low level of tolerance...
Speed is not a crime , it is a state of acceleration
Don't let mother-state supervise non-consequential aspect of our life , I drive in a banned area , thus using all possible cm is my way of protest 8)
I agree 100% with the creator of this post.
The only problem is... this is slowly starting to become a reality with the introduction of speed cameras. Sure they give you 10 MPH now, but who's to say they won't cut that down to 5 or even 0 in the future once everyone has accepted this technology.Originally Posted by JDS
I would just like to go on record that I speed, blatantly, almost everywhere I go (except residential roads). I average about 20 over. I use my RD specifically to avoid being ticketed by police. I assume that I am not alone, and perhaps that is why people think that if you have a RD you are a speeder. Blame people like me.
I have never had an accident in my 12 years of speeding. I have gotten plenty of tickets, but I don't care. Colorado has the cheapest tickets in the country, plus my my insurance company does not check your driving record unless you are involved in an accident. Since I have never had an accident (that was my fault), I have no worry about rising insurance rates. Free reign! Speeding costs me more in tires, brakes, and gas than tickets ever will.
Time = Money. I can save at LEAST 15 minutes a day from speeding, or 62.5 hours a year. I get paid $36.50 an hour. That is a total savings of $2,281 a year. Thanks Mike Valentine!
Im moving to Colorado! and i want to work with 100Daily!
