    Default radar freq. sticky

could we get a sticky with the different frequencies for each gun. this could help the guys that run in spec modes, and can find out exactly what guns are used in their areas and by what type of leo. i know they are posted in some other threads, but there is no "go to" post for each one (from what i've seen)

K-band doesn't exactly give much play room.

True, i think its only about a 60MHz range they use? Around 24.150. How many guns are there for K band still in use?

Georgia State Patrol is still mostly K band, although I have seen them use Decatur Ka (long, long time ago) and there are alleged reports of Stalkers in use as well.

I have a scan of a MPH spec sheet for their Z series guns that claims their K band operates at 24.125, but I think in reality they were all made at 24.150.

Ontario Provincial Police use K almost exclusively.

Pa State Police use K exclusively.

    S band is 2-4 GHz

There's also such a thing as C (4-8 GHz) and L (1-2 GHz) band radar.

Why does a V1 user care what frequency any radar operates at? Its not like you have a display that would ever be capable of displaying it.

Its interesting to see what bands are in use in your area, I think its possibly only actually useful though for determining if a POP capable unit could be in use in your area. Beyond that its pretty much pointless in reality or usefull purpose.

If I liked using a V1 I wouldn't suggest changing to another detector for just this feature any more than I would suggest someone change to a V1 just for the arrows.

I see people trying to determine police are always at close specific frequencies and falses are at another. My own reality has shown you absolutely can not go by any of that. I see falses all the time in what they consider to be in the police frequency range and I see police radar all the time out of the claimed ranges. I deal with Ka bands running at 33.XXX GHz, 34.XXXGHz and 35.XXXGHz here, I've seen the value of XXX being all over the place.

No radar detector is a precision frequency analyzer like you'd have on a bench anyhow, if they made them this accurate not only would it be pointless, but it would be too expensive, they get close enough to do their intended job whether they display the actual freq or not.

If your that much of an "enthusiast" and really want to look for subtle differences and precision accuracy then pay $7,000 for a precision bench top analyzer and mount it on your dash powered off a inverter because any one I've ever seen runs off AC current.

actually im getting a sr7 to mount for freq. also, as you have pointed out, i want to see what units are used without actually snooping around the leos cars, or asking directly. that way i know who has instant on or a pop capable gun. im pretty sure i dont have pop here, but there are a couple different i/o users and alot of new units comming into service, and im not sure what they are putting in those new cars.
