    Default radar detectors in CT

so i originally had this guy tell me radar detectors were illegal in ct, a while back, when i tried telling him they were not, he went into this whole tyrant, about how he's seen it yada yada yada, so i just let him be a moron

however more recently someone came and said the same thing to me, however he was much cooler, and willing to actually discuss, so i told him i'd look into it for him, he said he 'thought' not for sure though, saw signs on the side of the road saying radar detection devices were prohibited

my case was theres no state law but a possibility it meant for commercial truck drivers, either way i said i'd check into it for him, so here i am

    any opinions?

RDs were ALL illegal in CT before 1998 when the RD law was repealed!

RDs are ALL illegal in COMMERCIAL vehicles over 10K lbs in ALL states - FEDERAL Law enacted on Dec. 21, 1993/Bill Clinton

X2. I have been driving in the NY-CT area for many years and RD's were illegal here but not any more. There may be some random old signs up they forgot about.
I always here how Laser is always being used in CT. But in the passed 20 years I have only seen laser being used once. Everything I see is KA & K.

I’m assuming you never encountered radar and only laser, rather than nothing at all.
Where do you drive in CT? I literally have driven hundreds of thousands of miles in NY-CT and only had 1 laser encounter in CT. I find it strange how everyone says CT is all laser and I have yet to see any real evidence of it.

I could certainly see that, 95 would be a good place, i rarely see LEO's on the merit but i live in the Stamford/Danbury area.
All back roads/small towns usually use K & KA 80% of the time and i would guess laser 10% of the time where i live.
