Hello All,
I'm in Arizona and from what I understand Arizona doesn't use X-band. Could someone confirm whether this is the case?
Thanks,
Rav.

def no x around.
X band is not used in Arizona.
I turned mine off on both RDs here in AZ. The closest thing to X-band around here is Racer X.
AZ HP uses Ka radar guns but NOT the MPH Ka 33.8, just one of the other two Ka radar guns... locals use mostly K but some of them may use Ka as well... no X at all...
Phoenix area is almost all Ka by now, with some laser and K splashed in (mostly West Valley cities use K-band in my experiences). If you're sticking to the interstates, Ka may well be all you see, but beware of pacing from unmarked cars. AZ DPS loves, I mean LOVES, to do that.
Saw another beige DPS cruiser pulling over somebody on US60 today. Sometimes DPS runs constant-on...so they're easy to pick out when they're doing that.Originally Posted by bcorby
Some cities such as Gilbert love the laser.
Yeah, the above pretty much sums it up.
DPS has Laser, K, and Ka. (34.7 and 35.5)
However i did run across a County sheriff running 33.8 going up towards the dam from Kingman.
Have never seen X band. There is "rumor" that Eloy still has some old X band guns, but i never confirmed it.
And yeah, Gilbert loves laser.![]()
Thanks for the information guys.
I'll turn off the xband on the v1 when I get in the car. I'm mainly in Chandler and on the interstates.
To be honest, I'm not a speeder and usually stick with the mantra of keeping up with traffic, but I like to be as they say 'aware'.
Thanks,
Rav.
When I was in AZ god da*n DPS paced me for a long time and I wasn't even speeding. Reminded me of Virginia.![]()
