Default Smoking in car bad for detector?

I occasionally smoke cigars in the car. Is this bad for my detector?

I used to smoke "Rillos" and smoke out of "Waterpipes" daily multiple times a day and have not noticed any problems... Just watch out for excess heat... that goes along way!

Of course it damages electronics. After some time smoking, a sticky film builds up on the electronic components.

Usually smoke hurts electronics due to buildup on fans and components causing them to overheat. I see it all the time fixing smokers computers.

Cracking your window is really the only way to do it. Make sure none of the smoke can settle in your car.

Actually, no it doesn't. Tar is in quotes--"tar" and nicotine. Tar is just a catch-all term used for the $hit that's in cigarettes.

He asked if the smoke damages his detector. He didn't ask for a lecture on why he should quit.
