Escort 8500 X50 Locking up on X-band repeatedly

So I've owned a Escort 8500 X50 B since approx late January 08. After a month or two of having it, it started locking up on an X-band frequency. It's a complete malfunction, as it goes from 0 warning to full alert and is locked on the X-band alert until the unit is powered down and restarted.

It's been back to Escort 3 times to try to find the cause.
1 - Repaired antenna
2 - Replaced antenna
3 - Replaced the board

Now we're going to take a new one off the shelf and see if it continues.

Anyone have any suggestions?
Is it possible its my cell phone? Or the GPS function of my cell phone?
I havent located any common situations to relate it to, in fact there have been times when I was on a call when it locked up.

Could possibly be the cell phone. My RD and cell phone don't get along too well when placed nearly next to each other, causing too many false alerts on X. If you can be certain that X is not used in your area, you may want to turn it off.

Unfortunately it IS used in my area so I can't take that chance.
Most common in my state and surrounding (from my experience) is X, K, and Ka

Is that a 700MHz cell phone? I will have to post a video of how my crappy 700MHz cell phone causes X band falses on my RDs, especially when my cell phone is powered off yet is also charging. I did some online research and found that there are a lot of complaints from engineers about how cell phone manufacturers generally don't take any precautions to prevent their cell phones from emitting higher frequency harmonics. X band frequency (approx 10.5GHz) is a fifteenth harmonic of 700MHz.

What provider/network are you on? That would determine what frequencies your phone operates on.

Wasn't 700 MHz the analog frequency? Digital phones operate at 800 MHz and higher.

Try this next time your X50 gets "stuck" on X band. Turn off your phone, and see if the X50 returns to normal.

It Verizon Wireless.
Its an all digital phone that operates at 800mghz. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, or mobile email function, or GPS?
I plan on doing that when the new one comes if it happens again. Just wondered since I can't do it now if anyone has info

Yeah, I have Verizon too. I guess I am stuck with Verizon since in my rinky dink hick town Verizon is the only provider who has cell towers around my po dunk town. I am stuck in "them thar hills" in north GA. :cry:
