this may have been done before but i've done a quick search and cant find much so if its out there point me in the right direction if not, lets see some the stealthy installs out there :wink:

i've just got the cheetah gps mirror to help me find the fixed cameras but im getting paranoid now and feel i NEED a RD to give me more protection! i bought the mirror as its less noticeable than a RD on the windsheild so thats were i got thinking how would i mount a RD so it gets a good veiw from the front and behind without it being seen? i should probaly mention that RD's arnt illegal afaik and im just thinking about this to stop theives robbing it

i've seen one on here before that looked unbeleivable. it was on a honda, S200 or S2000 i allways get mixed up but the set up was un-noticeable! i think it was in the center panel of the car inbetween the seats. i doubt if i'll get anything like that, closest i can think of is putting it in a visor pack but just looking for pics or ideas of what others have done.

sorry for asking such a stupid question then :roll:

it was ideas or pics of the set up that i was after not licesnse plates, address and any other personal details! but still if you can be tracked from a picture of the inside of your car :roll:

Not a stupid question at all. Some of us live in states where it is perfectly legal but prefer a stealth instal for looks and security. Many have posted their set-ups so you may need to dig around.

You may also want to give some more info on what type of set up you are interested in and what type of vehicle. That way you may get more specific answers. If I can figure out how to post pics, I will try to put up e few of mine this weekend.

anyway, Thanks. i allways think it looks a bit naff having a RD suction cupped to your windsheild - especially if you get pulled and the cop spots it. doubt he would cut you much slack! the fact that i would have to take it down everytime i stop and put it up again when i start is why i allready havnt bought one. alot of satnav's get robbed here so i doubt a 400$ RD would last long from looking in my car (Renault clio, small hatchback type) the only way i can think of is getting a visor pack and putting it in there but im sure you guys have plenty of experiance, hence the thread. if i find somewere to have it properly hardwired on the car i'd fork out the cash for a V1. other than that i've been looking at a bel v995 but i would prefer the V1 or i'll only be upgrading in the future anyway :wink:

looks smart Fire but im not too bothered about having the concealed display mounted like that yet, just need somewere to have the RD itself hidden. i was thinking in the rooflineing but at the front the light and other junk is there and the front and rear of the roof slopeing down so the RD couldn't see out the front or rear anyway. over to you guys...

How would you suggest to mount a rd in a state where you cant mount it on the windshield?

Just search.

Start with the term "concealed" and work different search words.

There's a ton of this stuff.

Trust me, I know. I've done more than a few of these searches before, to contribute to other threads.

All the data's there, if you're willing to do your own homework to examine them.
