Snooper detectors?

Anybody know anything about them? Granted I'm thinking they'd be useless in the US, but they seem interesting in their use of GPS to tell you when you are coming up on known fixed radar devices.

The road angel also has GPS output for using with a laptop for SATNAV.

I wonder if there is such a product for the US. It'd be easy for DC since all the stationary red light cameras and speeding cameras locations are published on the DC police website

We were looking at becoming a distributor in the USA for their products, but the cost was outrageous! The wholesale was around $1100.00

Cobra has been working on a unit like this for the USA

Have no idea when that may come about..

While I wouldn't buy it cause I'm just a college student, if it could double as real GPS I'd say it's worth it. And by real GPS I mean navigation system.

For $1100.00 it should have a bumper to bumper warranty and come with a ticket payment guarantee.

I wonder if this is the same company that sold detectors here in the 1980's. The Snooper D 4000 was a decent detector, but looked like a brick not unlike the pictures of these Snooper models.

they are still going strong in the uk and i have one of the gps based detectors on the go.its really good-no false alarms-except when roads overlap each other and then it goes off telling you the speed limit for that road and the camera device type etc when its perhaps on the road underneath you!-nobodys perfect but its almost.however these are programmed fixed sites updatable over the net with their product support package.you have a rs232 lead to usb and hook up to their site for new data and to upload yours.if you find a new site that the unit doesnt know about you simply push a button and the unit remembers the location to give back to snooper to verify and add to the database.a good system however i still would run a jammer and a normal detector because of mobile laser sites and mini-gatso units which the gps systems cant know about. :shock:
