Default keep the v1 or buy a 9500i last decision please help

ok sorry i keep changing my mind with all these people sayting that the v1 is much better than the 9500i, so here it goes iam going to make a poll and please help me out here, so i could finally choose what to do.

the reason is that if i do send my v1 to VR for a check up, and if there is someting wrong with it i have to give them extra 45+ shipping, so you see i mean i have already payed 415 for this detector and i dont want to pay any more. I mean i could take the 45 and put it into a 9500i hmm i dont know and again sorry for all the theards promise it would be the last one just i need help from all you guys. thanx

ok damn it i messed up and know cant do a poll, and dont want to start anohter theard, so please post what should i do here

    1. keep it and worth the 45 dollars if needed a repair

    2. return it and get a 9500i

You seem to care about Ka sensativity.... the V1 has plenty. It can be a quiet detector with its logic modes....

Keep the V1.... it has everything you need.

The Valentine One detects radar and lidar better and it is $50-$100 cheaper than the Escort 9500i.

If your mainly a highway/rural driver, keep the V1. If you drive in big cities with lots of false alerts, get the 9500i. With the proper muting options enabled and X band turned off, the V1 can be turned into a much quieter detector. If your the original owner of your V1 (and at 415 dollars I would assume you are), they will most likely give it a checkup for free.

I only encounter 2 K band false alerts on my daily travel route to work, so I know anything else is the real deal. If I mainly drove in a big city, i might have a different view on which detector to get. But for me, the V1 is the way to go. You might want to post some more info, like your driving habits/travel areas, it would give people a better idea on what to suggest.

btw, I have no experience with the 9500i.

well yea i know that check up is going to be free but what if repair is needed then i have to pay 45 iam just trying to decide is it worth the 45 repair.

i live in the burbs mostly ka band 35.5, dont do alot of highway driving, and beilive it or not my v1 is more noisy on the higway than in and around the urban area, the reason why is those stupid contructioins signs that they have, its in IL. so yea molsy urban.

Escort isn't going to repair their units for free either. If my RD needs repair, I don't care about a measly 45 bucks or whatever if its going to keep me from getting a huge ticket or keep me from getting arrested.

35.5 ka is the most difficult to detect out of all the bands too. Maybe some IL users can chime in here. Is X band used in IL?
