I was on craigs petersons website, and I was lookin at the test he did with the pro 78,v1, and the cobra, and it turns out that the pro 78 is the same range with the v1 in ka band. I couldnt help it but just laugh. I mean i am not trying to bash the pro 78 in any way, iam getting one real soon, iam just saying maybe the pro 78 may have equal or better range against rx65 vector series and the x50, but i dont certainly think it has better or equal range with the v1

Well the V1 really doesn't hold that much over any of the high-end Belscort units (even the two you listed) in Ka depending on the style test you set up (real life scenarios come to mind)... and as we all know he (or anyone) can certainly set-up a test to push the results one way or another.

Also I would give the edge on Ka to the X50 and or RX65 over the pro 78, even Rev. C... they may be old, but I'd take my Rev 5 X50 over a 78 Rev C. any day.

I would say the Db's on Ka on the Pro 78 RevC is just as good as the X50 and RX 65. I'm not sure about the V1. Look out for the Whistler 695. Roy said that it had very strong numbers in the SML test. From my expierence Ka band has saved my @$$ many many times from I/O blasts miles away and very long 3+ or more miles from C/O encounters.
