V1 vs. 9500i in REAR Detection?

dj can the stalker get how fast your going being behind you and going the same exact direction you are... like this

I can see it by the radar using the car speed and detecting how far the car is pull away or pulling towards to get the speed, but i don't know



If the cop is behind you and your both moving can he turn on his radar and get your speed. I think this is a new feature in stalker radars. Thanks

Most definitely. This is a common tactic used by CHP. They estimate their speed, then pace that person, then, for good measure, give them a jolt of Ka to verify their speed, then pull them over. With three seperate speed measurements, their case is air tight in court.

Yeah, i knew about pacing but wasn't sure about radar being used to do it.

To me i would do a ka hit first, that would to me be the most accurate but i don't really know for sure.

Its stalker right, I think there 2 in one radar design made it possible for this

The last rear radar detection test that was done was in the year 2000 and the V1 beat every other detector maker by over 2 miles in rear Ka band radar detection because they all lack a rear radar antenna unlike the V1.

Wow, Looking at the above image at first it looks like some detectors are able to keep up with the V1, but then I looked closer and saw that the V1 destroyed the other detectors in KA rear detection.

Has GOL or any other independent testing group done a rear detection test as well? I'm looking for some confirmation or not that the V1 will detect rear KA 2miles before other detectors.

The V1 is an excellent choice for CA freeways, as the CHP uses 34.7 ghz Stalkers, which the V1 detects with ease. Its the only detector with a dedicated rear antenna, and its the only one that will indicate where the signal is coming from. From what it sounds like your driving habits/concerns are, the V1 is the way to go for you.

That 8 year old rear detection test is ridiculous because it is so out of date compared to how Bel's and Escort's current radar detectors perform when detecting radar from behind. All of the current Bel and Escort radar detectors use completely new and much more sensitive antenna designs compared to the outdated designs which were used 8 years ago.

What my friend MEM-TEK said is true regarding the current bel and escort models (as i have owned and used both). The high end Bel/Escort units will alert you that a radar source is approaching from behind if it gets a radar signal reflected into its front horn, and then you will have to guess where the signal is coming from. The V1 has a dedicated rear antenna watching your 6, with indicator arrows telling you where the threat is. A close analogy would be having an eye in the back of your head that is always looking for danger, and not having to look in an appearing and disappearing mirror to catch a glimpse of the threat coming from behind. I hope that made sense. Are the freeway area's that you drive in CA near alot of shopping malls/stores? Or do you mostly drive the rural/open roads?

Im not usually worried about cops in front of me on the highway, as you can usually see everyone hitting their brakes or doing the speed limit all of a sudden. Im more worried about a cop sneaking up on my from behind without me seeing him, especially at night.

Either way, you can try the V1 or the Bel/Escort products for 30 days to see which one you like better. Just make sure not to run them both at the same time.

That's still why I regard the V1 as the king of the open highway/rural scenarios.

Knowing, with relative certainty, that the signal is coming up from the rear is very important in terms of formulating a proper tactical response.

Even though I've lived with Escort products now for well over a decade, and can, with good odds, predict the "direction" of the threat based on the detectors' alerting characteristics, it's still very much a guessing game, on the open highway.

The V1's arrows do have a tremendous tactical advantage, in this regard.

Until the Bel/Escort products somehow is able to indicate, with relative certainty and good consistency, that the threat is indeed "behind you," the V1 will continue to hold the upper hand in this respect, irrelative of absoulte raw/sensitivity.

I am thankful to the rear horn on the V1 sometimes. Why just the other day, I picked up ka band from the rear horn in the semi truck so yes it is a useful thing.
