Default Jammer or rd? Noob with questions...

New to this forum. I've done quite a bit of searching and reading and could use some opinions.

I've got a Silver '06 350Z and live in the Seattle-Tacoma area. I can't afford to invest in both a high quality jammer and RD at the same time. The question would be what should I invest in first? It appears that the WA State Patrol use primarily Lidar, and most of my tickets in the past have been on the highways. However, I also drive a lot in Pierce and Thurston County where there is lots of Ka as well as some Lidar. Having said that, I try to drive reasonably conservatively, but seem to end up getting a ticket every 2 to 3 years. This makes my insurance more than I would like.

From what I've read, I'd either opt for a V1 or 9500, and go with a LI jammer. Not sure which I should go with first however since I can't do both right now.

Second question. With the 350z in the Puget Sound area, if I go with a jammer, should I also try to do a rear jammer as well? I'm not sure how many tickets are being written around here do to a laser up the behind.

    Suggestions, thoughts, opinions?

I'd say get a detector even though there's alot of laser used in your area just because radar is typically alot more common than laser is. As for the V1 / 9500i choose the one that best suits you usualy drive ( highway / city )

Although, it'd be cheaper to just send that once-every-three-years ticket to a lawyer than to buy all this crap.

Thanks for the feedback. Most of my driving is around town, but most of my tickets have been on the open road. I like the sensitivity of the V1, but some of the features of the 9500 do sound nice. However, the V1 is less expensive.

The lawyer idea is fine, but most of my tickets have been on road trips and in areas of the state where it is hard to find a good traffic attorney from a distance. I'll get rid of the front plate, but they are required here in WA. I never ran with one on my RX-7, but when the LEOs saw that car, the last thing they were looking at was whether I had a front plate or not. I'm not sure I'll have the same luck with the Z.

I was thinking of doing the Veil as well, but have been a little nervous about my ability to apply it well enough.

Well the V1 can be programed to be queiter with K band automute (or X/K off if only Ka's used) and with the big/little L modes and who knows maybe that little bit of extra sensitivity will save you from a ticket on the highway but at the same time you can feel really safe with the 9500i because you don't have to turn off any bands you just truelock all the falses so if a LEO just so happens to one day buy a 20 year old radar gun you'll know about it rather than just having that band turned off.

Let us know what you end up with

I just ordered the V1. I'll work with it, read all the programming threads, and give it a 30 trial. Since most of my problems are on the open road, I think it will work the best for me for the $$$ spent. We'll see. If it is too annoying, then I may go with the 9500ix.

Nice choice, read up on how to program it since you said you mostly drive in the city. I think I read some X is used in your area so you might not want to turn any bands off.

Good plan. No way should it be annoying on the open highway. But if you go driving around shopping centre parking lots, and through downtown traffic, where you couldn't even speed if you wanted to, with your V1 on, yes, you will hear a lot of annoying noise. So know when you need it and when you don't.
