I thought he might have been mistaken, he is not the kind of fellow to lie.
That is why I did not just call BS right then and there.

Mike Valentine I believe has (in the past) vowed to never even make a laser jammer for that matter... calling it something along the lines of 'electronic-warfare'. Mind you that jammers (laser) are legal in most states in the USA... so the odds of him making something that has been deemed 100% illegal in every state (via the FCC) is outlandish at best.

Your friend is wrong... most likely an honest mistake.

My bets here are (in no order):

-Your friend is just mistaken about what he heard/saw as this was about a decade ago.

-The Lambo owner had a V1, and they thought it was a radar-scrambler/jammer etc etc . (Many rich people buy things and have no clue how to properly use them), they just have enough money to buy the stuff.

-The Lambo owner had a V1 AND another product (Scorpion-jammer or RMR scrambler) etc etc and ran them both... severely hurting the effectiveness of his V1, but again, just because people have money it doesn't mean they have common sense.

I am going to go with that one, him and his twin brother, (that I have known for many years) both eagle scouts will not outright lie.

He was just mistaken, end of story.

There's another possibility: maybe the guy had one of the old "brute force" radar jammers (ECM5446 etc), and was using a V1 to trigger the jammer...

Laser jammers are an intriguing idea from a technical standpoint, but we dont make them either. Radar and laser detectors are completely passive; theyre merely receivers of signals already in the air. Jammers, on the other hand, cross over the line into electronic combat. We wont go there.
