Default Hi I am new here

I am planning to buy 2 radar detectors.

From what I read it looks like the v1, and the escort blue are the 2 candidates.

    My questions

1-Because of my windshield UV contents, Is there an externally mounted units, or antenna to overcome this issue and improve reception.

2-Where do I place my orders?
    Any preferable supplier/s

3-for laser signals arrestors, would the police know that I have them installed in my car?

    Many thanks in advance

    1) many of the manufacturers have "remote install" units where the radar antenna or laser receiver/jammers -- Beltronics/Escort would be my first suggestion, not necessarily for their laser jamming units, but def. for radar reception. 9500CI or STi-R would be an excellent choice.

    2) Due to forum restrictions the only place we can really suggest is radarbusters.com

    3) Depends on the laser gun and the operator, but due to the numerous errors incurred from natural sunlight and reflections that cause the same error jammers cause, it is unlikely with a stealthy install the officer will suspect anything, and jammers are not illegal in most jurisdictions, and in the places they are illegal it is usually a minor infraction.

In addition, upon receiving a laser alert you should reduce to normal speeds as quickly (but smoothly) as possible and shut off the jammer so that the officer can obtain a real speed reading. If the officer doesn't get a reading for a couple of seconds on the first shot, he might just think he didn't aim well, or some sort of lighting fluke. If you drive right pass him and he still didn't get a reading, that's a bit suspicious

Similarly, if he shoots at you and you brake hard enough that he can see your car dip forward, that's pretty obvious you have either a good laser detector or a jammer.

Yes. If your windshield has that UV coating, you need a remote RD. The two best are the Escort 9500ci and the Bel STi-R. I personally prefer the 9500ci over the Bel STi-r, because it is a lot quieter. The 9500ci has the ability to learn the location of false alerts, while the STi-R does not. Both have basically equal detection range, but because of the amazing sensitivity of these RDs, I personally feel that the false alert lockout system is necessary for the driver's sanity, because the false alerts will drive you crazy.

The 9500ci also comes with a built-in laser jammer, while the STi-R does not. It's not the best laser jammer out there, but it will work pretty well if you add Veil to your front lights. I highly suggest Veil if you go the 9500ci route.

Since I have absolutely no artistic skills whatsoever, I had the Veil professionally installed on my car and I think it came out pretty nice.

I live in an area where laser jammers are illegal. I get the alarm, I slow down quickly using my E-brake to avoid brake lights and nose dip, then shut the jammers off once I have arrived near enough to the posted speed limit to avoid a ticket and allow the LEO to obtain my new and improved speed. Works like a charm and looks like this to the LEO:

There are lots of good videos in our video section of this forum, but here is my personal favorite video made by a member of this forum of laser jammers performing in the real world:
