In addition, upon receiving a laser alert you should reduce to normal speeds as quickly (but smoothly) as possible and shut off the jammer so that the officer can obtain a real speed reading. If the officer doesn't get a reading for a couple of seconds on the first shot, he might just think he didn't aim well, or some sort of lighting fluke. If you drive right pass him and he still didn't get a reading, that's a bit suspicious
Similarly, if he shoots at you and you brake hard enough that he can see your car dip forward, that's pretty obvious you have either a good laser detector or a jammer.
