Default Anyone Tried to Build a HUD?

Just curious. I have seen several posts with hidden/stealth locations for remote displays. But, has anyone tried to fabricate a Heads Up Display for their RD? It would seem that it would be the most stealth remote display in that you kill the power and nothing is there but a clear screen.

I found this video where a guy is making one. This particular approach wouldn't work as it would thrash your depth perception, but there has to be alternate ways to approach this.

No the HUD One is not free, but one of our members, Swarga, made that interface for the V1 and the Corvette HUD.

I serously envy and at the same time hate Swarga, he is just too bad ass.

No but I really wish I could do that, and it make me mad I can't. I really wish the RD industry was big enough that you could actually get one built for certain detectors and then have a car fabricating shop install it for you like the corvettes do.

He's working on something new and since he has a 9500ci now I would not be surprised if he integrates that into the HUD.

    Damnnnnn!

Seriously if he integrates it and I could do the same with a Speed and Countermeasure HUD installed in the M3 I would have to change the steering wheel to a fighter jet style steering wheel. LOL I'd be snipping *****es! haha.

It be nice if you could integrate the LI too and it say the gun in text on the HUD.

Id like to have the speed in big letters in the middle and then have the 9500ci, STI-R and LI and if possible as if any of this is anyways have a section where it has a grid of everything on and off. But all of that is a dream and I doubbttt it will ever happen, though it would be nice. It be nice to see Cheetah come out with a Universal unit that cheetah doesn't build the interface for but it has a universal plug like computers have usb etc. and the RD and Countermeasure makers make the interface and have a port on the Unit to plug it in to the Cheetah unit. It be plug and play and be very user friendly as its the Detector manufactures making the interface not us.

    More details here:

    http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...ion-1-0-a.html

As for the HUD-One working with your C5, the chances are pretty slim. The C6 HUD has the ability to display arbitrary text so that the Nav system can display streets names, distance to next turn, etc. The C5's HUD doesn't have this capability - it can only display what it was originally intended to display (speed, oil pressure, engine RPM, etc.)

The good news is C6s are selling extremely cheaply right now. Now is definitely the time to upgrade.
