Default Escort Passport x50 = ticket?

I have gotten one ticket so far with the x50. I saw the cop, but was too slow to react. I did not pick up any signal. My x50 is set up to pick up POP, decreased x-band for city mode, auto detecting mode, and standard for everything else. Can anyone shed some light as to what happened?

It kind of makes me want to try out the V1.

    thanks
    Henry

I don't feel protected from the radars. I am thinking of getting the blinder very soon.

It's a naive, dumb question but I have to ask. Will you ever be 100% safe from a speeding ticket or close to it?

    Laser.

My best bet. Laser is hard to detect. That's why you need Veil, a jammer, and LaserShield if you have a front plate.

    *EDIT*

No, you will never be 100% safe. A smart cop with well-timed instant on radar will smoke you every time.

I'm in NYC. I thought they can't give out tickets with laser?

New York is listed as using laser in the list of U.S. bands thread over in the speed trap info forum. Look on your ticket, and it might say how they got you. My bet is either you got lasered (in which case check the local statutes just in case you're right and they can't hand out laser tickets), or you ran into one of the few really good cops who know how to use instant-on in a deadly way.

Another thing to consider is auto mode. If you have your X50 in auto mode, it's about as good as a high-end Cobra most of the time (in my experiences). Keep it in highway mode as much as possible. You'll have a few more falses, but you'll have incredible range.

I am so close to ordering a blinder. I will definitely change it to highway mode now. I have handed the ticket to a traffic lawyer already. Ill give him a call tomorrow and see.

It was so frustrating to get the ticket with my 300 buck detector.

why is it so hard for me to spot cops? I have spotted one so far at a cross road. Good thing I was going at speed limit. The x50 has not given me enough confidence. If only it let me identify where the cops are.

the V1 wouldn't be any different the only detect cops running radar not cops in general
