The original ESCORT was my favorite but I also liked the original Passport.
The original Passport, which was the first detector I ever owned back in the 80s.
Those were very good units back in the day. I also liked the Radio Shack RD9XL because of the very small size and it was a good performer for those threats.
MEM-Tek...I borrowed your pic...off the net.

Loved the original Passport back in the late 80's. Solidly built, compact, excellent range with minimal falsing. Also had the Spectrum 2, which was the V1 of its day - it had the longest range, but it also falsed like crazy.
Spectrum 2. My Dad used to use that in the 80s and 90s. I was always fascinated by it would alert to cops on the way to the usual lake we fished at. We still have it but it's retired. My Dad now uses a XTR-105 and I use a 695.
The original Passport. I still drive around with it every once in a while when I'm feeling dangerousIt's still a great design.
I've sold off all my other old detectors and kept only the Passport...it was some hot ticket in its day ... pun intended!
