Trade the RX65 for a V1??

My friend offered to trade straight up his V1 for my new RX65...The V1 is about 1 year old and in very good condition..He says that he just wants to try something new for a change, but the funny thing is, I let him know about these forums about a week ago..Do you think he was persuaded from the GOL results?? What do you guys think that have had extended use with both of these radar detectors??

I don't know, sounds like a good deal to me, i would do it for sure if the V1 works. I don't think the GOL results would prompt him to do that, the V1 did pretty well in our tests.

NO!!!!!!! Do Not trade...The upgrades are only available for free if you were the buyer of the unit from valentine and besides the only thing lacking is laser detection

That's the thing...I don't think that there was enough difference between the two as far as the GOL test goes...I might just habg on to the RX65 for right now...It's been great so far

I have the RX65 and let me tell you this detector is great. Dont trade...
unless you would like to try the arrows, I think that would be something to have. maybe try swapping for 3 months so you can both get the feel for each detector then decide.

there are times I wish I had arrows, maybe save my neck from turning so much trying to figure out where the leo is...

RX65 is awesome detector. I love mine. Saved me many many many times already.

Stay with your RX65, the only big difference between these two are the laser detection and your RX65 is new. :wink:

I would trade in a heartbeat. VR will let you send it in for the upgrades. The V1 is the king... Someone going to let me trade straight up for a less expensive detector... No brainer.

If you are not worried about POP in your area,No brainer...trade the RX65 for a V1!!
What version and firmware is the V1?
I have a V1 version 1.7 firmware 2.693 that I bet would hold its own against a RX65 or and escort x50 any day with the exception of POP detection.

Go for the V1!!

Why do you say that about POP? GOL showed that the V1 was pretty good at POP when compared to the others.

Not true!

I sold my V-1 to a friend and I contacted VR to let them know and even got the serial number tranfered over in his name..
