How important is rear laser detection?

I picked up rear scatter once. I was driving west and the LEO was on the other side of the street clocking eastbound traffic. Not really a "save" by any stretch. Yesterday, I had an Infiniti behind me and the V1 was going bonkers on rear laser.

Overall, it's not going to save you.

How important is rear laser detection? Seems if you get shot with laser, 9 times out of 10 you are toast, especially in the Butt as your only chance seems like getting scatter from a car shot in FRONT of you. Not to say it is worthless, but I'm thinking of mounting my detector in on the dash where it won't have a clear view through the back window.

Also, the Z4 shifter doesn't depend on the detector. It can operate just fine without being interfaced to the detector right? What is the advantage of connecting it to a detector?

Where did that happen? Miami area?

If you're saying it doesn't WORK...I know it WORKS on my V1, I've tested it both artificially and in real-world use. It always alerts except for shots at the license plate from VERY close. The real question is whether or not the alert is of any use.

It does WORK... but only on the V1. Belscort's rear laser detection is next to non-existent due to the tiny receiver lens on TOP of the detector. It might work if the detector is mounted on the windshield no higher than the middle and tilted toward the sky like a Cobra.

As for whether it's of any use... well, it warns you to pull over...

I got to see the V1 detect laser first hand a few days ago. Detected all the shots and absolutely pwned my ix in laser detection. I just don't care. Radar detection is good and that's what I care most about

Yea, I would call "working" being reliable. You cannot rely on anything but laser jammers as far as laser goes... even then they are far from bulletproof.

No meaning it may work detecting some shots but other shots it may miss detecting.
