    Default K-band falses

Newbie question here. Do K-band door openers readily vary frequencies? I recently put my X50 into spec mode and came upon a common false location. There is a Walgreen's on the corner of an intersection I regularly cross. I invariably get a K-band false there.

I noticed that while the RD was in spec mode, on one occasion at this intersection, the display would vary between three different frequencies. They were all K-band. I don't remember them off hand. I wrote them down; they're in my car.

Is this common? Was I picking up a LEO by chance?

This is common. I've had my local Randalls K band door opener since from 24.154 to 24.160 then to 24.166. Don't use spec mode to see if a K band siganl is a false or not. It varies too much. Spec mode is for Ka band ID.

    Thanks. That's what I figured.

I put it in spec mode to see what frequencies LEO were using in my area and just happened upon this. Good to know.

Also remember, every door actually has two radar transmitters, inside and outside. This might explain some of what you're seeing.
