Radar Alert Question

Driving to Vermont I have encountered a few alerts that are coming from what look like portable, programmable street signs usually with no signs on them, just blank. There is what looks like a radar gun mounted at the bottom - any ideas what this is used for?

They are called radar drones. Pa is loaded with them. They are used to slow down traffic (rd users) in construction zones and other areas.

No, but they deserve to be.

What is a bummer in PA is those drones are k-band and are all over the Highways, some areas like every 5-10 miles, and several in as few as 3 miles. You can not ignore them since they are k-band, the same radar used by PA State patrol. I have several times met PA State patrol running k-band speed traps in the middle of an area with drones. Pa also has a few ka drones.

PA has always like to screw with drivers for years.
This don't surprise me any, thanks for the heads up tho.

Good info..thanks just wanted to make sure they were not used to catch speeders by placing them there and having a chase car up ahead
