    Default What's this device?

I saw this device on a Finnish TV-show about police forces and their job. Is this a radar or what? Sometimes there was just a bracket, but once I saw the device on it's place. There is a thick cable with big connector connected to it's right side. Here's how that device looks like:

    Anyone?

Stalker II Mini-ATR MDR, right? MDR is capable to measure the speed of a vehicle when police car is on the move.

Could someone tell me which of these radars are constant on, and which are not? I just want to know which of them are easiest to detect with RD!

    -Stalker Dual 34,7 GHz

    -Kustom HR-12 24,150 GHz

    -Stalker ATR 34,7 GHz

    -Multanova 6F 34.36 GHz

    -Multaradar C 24.100 GHz

    Thanks!

I don't know about the multas (aren't those speed cameras)? Cameras are generally constant-on.

But the other guns you listed can be operated in either instant-on or constant-on mode. It's up to the operator. The HR-12 and Stalker ATR are hand-held guns, which tend to be used I/O more often than not. The Stalker Dual is a dashmount radar so it may be used C/O or I/O.

I think you're right about the Multas. It was stupid from me to even ask about them

But can the handheld radars be used constant on? I did not know that. What's the point in that? I thought they're only shooting with them from the bushes, not having them constantly on

I don't know about the HR-12 but the ATR can be dash-mounted and used with a wired remote control, and in this configuration can be easily used in C/O or I/O mode, though C/O is easier since it's push to transmit, push again to hold.

When used with the handheld trigger grip the ATR is a deadly beast on I/O, since it's simply pull trigger, get speed, release trigger, pass go, collect fine. It's like a portable ATM.

The HR-12 can be dash mounted or handheld. The HR-12 also has moving or stationary. They look just like the Falcon but have the moving mode where the Falcons are stationary only. Not sure how many of them are still in service. Kustom still has them on their web site for their product line. As far as I know, the HR-12 and the Falcon are K band only.
Outside Independence Hall when the Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended, Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."
