Default Direct Wire Kit from Bel/Escort questions..

To the folks that used the direct wire kit from Bel and Escort,

I installed the direct wire kit that came from Bel. It came with a remote unit that shows a green light (when radar is on), a red light (when alarming) and a mute button. In my opinion, the green light is extremely bright! Do you guys agree? It beats the purpose of running "dark" on the radar because the remote is way too bright. Is this case in yours? I feel like putting a black tape on the lights.

    Thanks!

Some here drop a piece of tint on that bad boy, or take a sharpie to it.

Just curious, what vehicle type did you install it in?

Agreed, if you apply a sharpie lightly (or even a gray color sharpie) it should just limit the amount of light that passes through it, not completely block it (I would think).

Or just use a piece of electrical tape over it.

i think it would be cool if the lights flashed red and blue when the radar detect receives an alert. and yes i agree that the green light is way to bright

I find mine too bright too. I might take it apart and change out the resistors with higher-value ones. If I do I'll post pics and a how-to.
