    Default What a pickle.

so. ive had my escort 9500i for about 8 months. i dig it it does well and keeps me out of trouble. the only beef i have with it is its too quiet for me (i like my tunes loud)

ffwd to today. i fell into an awesome deal on a V1. so i went on and bought it, if for nothing else to flip it and make some money.

its a recent version and from the test run it works well.

so now im in a dilemma

keep the 9500i and flip the v1

or keep the v1 and sell the 9500i

    ohh these decisions

    any advise?

    curt

It really depends on you. It also depends on what the main threat is in your area also. If I was in an area with no Q/T and no Stalker DSR 2X, then yes indeed the Escort. If it is the other as in my area, then it is a no brainer, V1 all the way.

What do you mean by 'quiet,' that you can't hear it over your tunes or you want more false alerts?

If it's a simple lack of volume issue, there's a solution for that - External Radart Detector Speaker - Radar Detector Accessories at Radar Busters

... and the V1 isn't that much louder. It's adequate, but if I have my windows down and my music up I'm lucky to hear it at full volume.

Personally I found the V1 to be plenty loud enough, but my wife says I have an old man's attitude to music volume (go figure).

Keep the 9500i for city usage and use the V1 on the highway.

If money is important, the V1 will have better resale value on Ebay, if you are willing to ship it overseas.

well after tooling around today with the v1 on duty. i can its a fine radar detector. but i much prefer the options of my 9500i.

i thought i might get sold on the arrows but GPS> Arrows

i guess to ebay it goes.

Does the head unit in your car have audio interrupt?

for cell phone use i believe so.

i ended up keeping the v1 as someone offered me way more than i paid for my escort.
