Escort 9500ci - does it still offer the best protection?

Hello,

I originally posted a topic just over a year ago indicating that I have been out of the radar detector loop for almost 18 years and was wondering what type of system that has front and rear detection that we could purchase for our 2008 BMW 335.

A year ago, everyone highly recommended the Escort 9500ci. I'm wondering if this advice still applies or if there is something else that should be considered?

As with all good RDs, the 9500ci is able to detect radar that originates the rear of the vehicle very well, but lacks the ability to provide the direction of that radar contact to the driver. The 9500ci provides mediocre laser protection on the front of the vehicle, and poor to none on the back of the vehicle. There are much better laser jammers on the market than the ones on the 9500ci, but its radar detection of the 9500ci is at the top of the heap.

For radar protection Yes! for laser protection NO!

Personally I would take my money and buy a BEL STI-r while you still can find them and then buy a Blinder M27 or Laser Interceptor to take care of laser
