I haven't seen a (real) K-band detection in atl area yet, but I've gotten a bunch of them in random towns in north georgia. Lots of local pd's still run it in GA at least.

The video I posted in the lounge is the Georgia State Patrol using K-band in a metro Atlanta city. Once you have enough posts and the admin's determine they trust you, ask to get in and see the video.

So far in my driving around the city, all over the top and east ends, the GSP and Conyers both use K-band. I've reported them both in the radar bands by city/state/county thread. If I see any other areas running it I'll report those as well, plus post video (I'm running the camera constantly now).

The dangerous thing about K-band in the metro area is there are hundreds of stop lights using k-band drones for traffic control (non-red light cameras). If you don't have a GPS detector to mark them out its really easy to grow immune to K-band due to many false alerts, and then get owned when you least expect it. Radar is much more likely to happen during the winter months.

Tsk tsk tsk. No K in Orlando? There's a LEO who likes to sit in the Waterford area and shot C/O and I/O K band. I've also seen it used by Seminole County and some LEO in Ovideo. I was also shot with I/O K band on 408 by some undercover Impala.

Granted, you're right. The majority I see is Ka band. I know they also shoot laser, but I never get shot .

Do you get falses around town with your V1? If not you might want to send it in for a check up. I have been hit with K band from GA state patrols well over 5 times in the 2 years I have been living here.
