Aside from VASCAR, Will I be always alerted when a cop gets my speed?

Whether or not I have time to slow down or not, will the radar detector always alert when my speed is read?

It could be an alert to slow down or an alert to pullover and wait for the cop to write you a ticket.

An example was when I was using my friends 8500, I was doing 80 in a 60 at 2AM… when I heard the Laser alert I knew I was caught…. I started to pullover even before the cop turned on his lights and got behind me.

On the other hand, can you use this to hide? If there were more cars I would have exited and stopped at a gas station and wait for awhile because there will be many cars between me and the cop.

No, no RD is 100% foolproof...None (especially not with POP or Laser).

This sometimes happens with laser/instant on.

I know people who have ran/hide from the LEO's with/without detectors, most with detectors and its not a good idea id say.

With the V1, i'd say pretty much yes since it's good even for quick-trigger instant-on. The only chance is laser, but that doesn't seem likely.

If it's mounted correctly, you should get everything. The exceptions would be an odd-aimed laser (incl V1) and perhaps a POP burst, particularly the 16ms flavour.

pacis, laser, pop(14ms), vascar are all ways cops can get your speed w/o triggering your radar detector.

I didn't think that the V1 had any silent windows (aside from 16ms POP)? That is what he's using (as per his signature anyways).

I have been hit with laser, and my v1 did not alert me. Never the less, very suprising, but its still possible.
