Whistler pro 78se is looking better than escort c65

I have been running a whistler pro 78se for a year and I loved it.
My wife stole it for her commuting and I replaced it with a C65. After a few days I am thinking the whistler is more sensitive and alerts me quicker than this C65. Anyone else have any first hand experience with these detectors?

Really now... Doesn't the C65 have USA and Intl modes? If its set to international it will slow down its response time and preformance.

Indeed it does. Put it in USA mode. Problem solved.

Should get close to the same range or better in some instances than a 9500ix (my gf has the C65).

I am running it in USA mode. I will admit my few encounters with the C65 have been with the Arkansas State police and it seems some of their radar guns have a real tight field. The 78pro does seem to give me a couple hundred yards earlyer warning though. The jury is still out but I miss my whistler.

Whistlers are better off axis and with I/O in my experience. My humble XTR-140 usually alerts within a second of my RX65 in the city, but it's a different story on the highway. Your C65 is going to be much better it for long range encounters as well since it's the same hardware. Put it in USA mode and it'll give you about 10% more range.

Several months ago I ran my Pro78SE and Beltronics RX65 at the same time space about 3 feet apart. I was running the RX65 in USA. I was looking for some KA activity and found some 34.7 encounters. The Pro78SE followed the Bel by approx. 3 seconds. There was a lot of traffic at the time, I would estimate the Bel encounter to be between 1.5 and 2 miles. The Whistler gave more than adequate notice.

I know all about running 2 detectors at the same time. When the RX65 was powered up it would alert on the Whistler. When the Whistler was powerd it would alert on the Bel.

I really don't have any problem with Whistler in my own experience but from every thing I have used Beltronics or Escort would always beat out any Whistler I tried, but I have yet to personally use the V995 or the V955 or the C65 so I may be missing out in some comparison

Well I got a ka alert about 1.2 miles from a city policeman this afternoon. He always sits in the same spot so I have some experience in this location with the whistler. The C65 might have picked him up .2 quicker than the whistler would have. Also the state guy I picked up the other day was on an off ramp shooting at a wierd angle so maybe thats why the escort did not perform well in that situation.
