The C65 (like the RX65) has USA mode as one of the programmable options. This cuts down the bandwidth scanned on Ka super wide to just those frequencies used in the US.
It's very probable that this mode will give you better response times and maybe a little more range on Ka.
With factory settings, I'd give the detection range edge to the 9500i because it uses a condensor lense in front of the horn antenna which gives it a little more gain. However, the C65 run in USA mode would probably equal the 9500i or may even edge it out by having a faster scan rate in this mode.
This is one of those things that needs to be tested!!!!!

If you look at this GOL test, it appears USA mode isn't really all that.

Hmmmm...........Nine_C1 breaks out the calculator.
Your looking at the 2007 short test done on (1) sample of the RX65 and only on Ka 35.5.
The average of the three runs in USA mode beat the average of the three runs done in INTL (Factory) by 11%. Nothing to sneeze at.
Check out the 2006 tests done against all radars and with (2) samples of the RX65.
Guys of LIDAR - Radar Detector Test
Detection range of the (2) RX65 units tested improved by 87% on 33.8 Ka!
Detection range of the (2) RX65 units tested improved by 44% on 35.5 Ka!
On 34.7 Ka, switching to USA mode was good enough to move the RX65 from 5th place into first over the top two performing V1's.......even though it only improved average performance on this band by 1%!
I say it is ALL THAT.......and a bag of chips!!
Put this on a detector like the RedLine (or better yet, Band Seg and RDR off) and you get some really ridculous range.![]()

I stand corrected, maybe it is a bag of chips.
