I did test the STI's laser detection on my own time before the crew came along and it is better than the RX65's detection but still not as good as the V1's

Yeah, without a doubt if you live in an area where radar detectors are banned the sti is for you. That succer is stealth. I like the buttons on the front and the look of it. Still glad I have my RX-65.

Now if I have time I just might try and find a stationary ka and do some range test of my own with the RX-65 and V-1. I was kinda shocked how one persons unit could do better than another persons unit and be the same version.

There was one time that the DSP didn't get hardly any range wait till you see that video.

I see that there was alot of the same detectors tested and some have better range then others. Why is that?

Thanks for that piece of information. I am sure the V1 forever will dominate.

If you have money to spend I would suggest buying "the top 3" They all have there own band that they shine in.

Manufacture varience. There isn't a cookie cutter mold to make a detector. It's complicated

I like the buttons on the front too, I think that buttons on the top surface were the wrong idea in the first place. Why they had buttons on top, I don't know, glad they're getting away from that.

I look at it as they saw it ontop of the dash, so... the logical thinking, why not. Obviously high mount is better, oh well. It isn't like I use the butons all that often, so it isn't a big bother to me.
