Heya, I've been lurking here for a while.
I'm looking for a good radar detector in Chicago, Cook County. I looked at the locational thread, and the thread mentioned these:
Its still accurate, right?Chicago (St. Louis Metro Area): Ka (Decatur Genesis 35.5), Laser (PL III), Redlight Enforcement (inductive loop), X (traffic density monitoring)
I'm thinking about either getting a refurb Escort, Bel STi, or Whistler. I'm not sure how good the refurbished units are, if I want to save money, it doesn't seem like a good idea to have a broken(?) Escort that was later fixed and maybe will break down again.
So it would be really nice if I could find out about the longevity of the detectors as well as their performance.
Thanks!
The RLCs are a big problem here. Is there a reason why a Cheetah/Escort is better than a GPS with them labeled as POIs?
