Does anyone know of the gain and beamwidth that is required for x,k,ka detection?

There is not a true answer but from -110db to higher is ideal, top end models only. Example, my old Escort has about -104db and the Vi has about -118db on X band (remember every -3 db is doubled in gain). The detection range between the two is amazing different to where you would not want the Escort at all. The band width is determined on the Q factor which varies on each maker. You in theory would want a narrow band width with a high peak (trade off) for the most -db gain. Happy motoring......
