Just c alled Met life and they said that they will also deny coverage if any radar detector or laser/lidar detector is on the vehicle.
This leads me to ask: Wouldn't they only know if I reported the detector on the vehicle?
I have a feeling most insurance companies will blatantly deny coverage if you try to claim your radar detector or laser jammer. However most of them don't know what a laser jammer is, much less what it looks like. And unless your car is totaled and you were unable to remove your RD, AND they are looking for a way to get around to paying your claim, I think you are fairly safe.
I've dealt with Progressive and Geico while I had a detector and jammer installed on the car and have not heard a peep. Most of the adjustors just don't really care IMO. Of course, my car has not been anywhere near being totaled.
250/month? Not even worth having that car in the least bit. It's nothing but plastic with a turbocharged 4 banger. My cousin has an STi and that thing though fast is absolute garbage. Nothing but plastic and if you look at it wrong you risk damage to it. You lost control with an AWD in MA because they don't plow. Try driving the Kangamangus during a snow storm, I haven't had a problem. And besides you are paying for full coverage, I don't. I refuse to have a car payment or pay for full coverage.
I just checked out the price of your plastic car. Give me a MB C300 6spd Sport Sedan or a 3-Series BMW please. Cheaper and way more eye appealing. To each their own I guess. And it's the turbo and (not in your case) supercharger that kills your insurance. I have a NA Frontier and my friend has the supercharged version. They are the same year and I am only 1 year older then him. He has no chargers. I do, yet I pay way less than him.

My dad sells insurance and I asked him from time to time why some cars are more expensive to insure than others? Answer "the repair-ability factor". Some cars cost more to repair than others or they damage more easily than others. Horse power has very little to do with it. My Focus cost more to insure than my 530 HP Cobra.
I did not lose control with an AWD. My EVO is fine, so don't jump to conclusions. This was on a FWD Cobalt SS/SC, in deep snow on Rt2. And my garbage mobile will run circles around a BMW. Literally. But I did not purchase this to drive in Luxury. I'd get a Porsche if I was looking for that.

Well the first part is explainable then since front wheel drive is horrible in the snow. Secondly, Wow, obviously that plastic toy would run circles its awd vs rwd at the same price. And no your car would not run circles around every BMW as I recall the M3 can beat the Evo around the track. 1/4 mile might be differenet again because AWD doesn't lose any traction. Bad comparison since the M3 is 2x the cost but you stated it would run circles around a BMW.
"Loss to any device or instrument used for detection of radar or other speed measuring equipment." This is the only thing I found searching for "Radar"
