What are the parameters that define instant on and quick trigger?
Instant on is when the LEO keeps the gun on standby until he wants to clock someone's speed, then he flips the transmit on to "instantly" get the speed. The duration of the "on" may be 1 second to many seconds depending on how quick the LEO is on the trigger and if he wants to get tracking history.
Quick trigger is instant-on while "firing" the radar for less than a second or so. Trigger-on, get speed, trigger-off.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!
If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

QT is a form of IO.
If the cop waits til he sees his target to fire the gun, it's IO.
If he then turns it right back off, instead of leaving it on to monitor you longer, it's QT.
There is no official time parameter, but it is generally accepted that QT will usually be less than 2 seconds in length. Seems like most of those who have tested QT were using 1 second timing.
Thanks for the description guys!
I never get sick of that video snoop.
The best definition I've heard of Q/T vs I/O is that if any model of RD can pick it up, then it was I/O. If the burst was so short that some brands or models missed it, then it was Q/T.
