    Cool ALMOST Screwed up

After receiving a catalog from a car toy location I decided to buy another detector after about 5 years and a few tickets (high $$$ tickets) They had all Cobras and I thought not to bad of prices, BUT instead of jumping into it I decided to search and read, Viola I found Radar Roy and read up on a bunch of detectors, I used to run 18 wheelers and always had Cobras or Whistlers and could never trust them, In short I purchased a new 8500X50 red and got it in 3 days, Here where I live in a town of a few thousand they have 17 officers and each have a radar unit, Thye Escort is SUPER, But I am actually writing this to thank you all for the comments and feedback that took me away from Cobra and hope the $200 tickets are finished!

Welcome to the forum Bobcat46, and congratulations on seeing the light and upgrading to a REAL radar detector.

Read the FAQs, and learn about instant-on and laser, they're techniques that, if well done, can defeat even the best detectors. Look into a laser jammer next.

No doubt about it, any move away from a Cobra RD is a good one.

Welcome to our most excellent site BTW

Well, almost any move. A move from Cobra to RMR would be a move in the wrong direction.

But from Cobra to anything else from Whistler, Bel, Escort, or the V1, is the right way to go!

LOL, you got me on that one, as long as we the CM enthusiast make our travels North (the right direction) even if it's North by North West or East then were doing OK right
