I'm attempting to hardwire in my detector again. I ripped all the cords out of my old car awhile ago. The ground wire went with the old car. Can I solder a wire to one of the wires I stripped on the direct wire cord, to create a ground wire, and does it matter which color I do this too?
What I have is the Add-A-Circuit, a black/red wire connected, and the stripped end of the direct wire cord. In the direct wire I see a red, black, green, and yellow wire. What goes where?
