Default How much does the mount effect detection sensitivity?

I think I noticed a slight decrease in the sensitivity of my 9500ix when I use the super cup mount which moves it about 3 inches away from my windshield compared to the flush stock mount.

Should this happen? Does anyone notice a decrease or increase when they mount higher or say visor mount?

I had a reduction in off-axis K band when I used super cup. Depends a lot on your actual car and windshield, like do the pillars interfere if the unit is set back, that sort of thing.
