With your RD when on your windshield? I would think that they would be prone to heat problems especially on hot days on the windshield. Does everyone go to the trouble to take them down to avoid theft and heat problems or not?

i've had detectors freeze up during hot days...I normally keep my A/C on with one of the vents aiming upwards to cool off the detector.
when i park i remove it from the mount, put it into an old sock to prevent scratches and toss it in my glove compartment
