ODG your ave is far too distracting!
Yeah, that ave is ok but you never saw the one with the banana...............

I'm getting sick and tired about people who have never run a Redline talking about its "slow" reaction time to I/O. That's pure BS. The RL does not do well on sub 1-second Q/T shots, but other than that due to its superior sensitivity, especially off-axis, it's an excellent RD.
If a V1 and RL got shot at the same time, the V1 will alert 1/2 to 3/4 of a second before the RL--that is, when the first chirp from the V1 is ending, the RL will start alerting. If you're speeding, this isn't even enough time to lift your foot off the skinny pedal, let alone brake.

However, the V1 has arrows and there is nothing like knowing where the threat is.
    Nothing.

Agreed. I have run a slow reacting Belscort M3 and a V1 together for 3 1/2 years and the M3 has peformed better against I/O in the real world. Sensitivity is at least 80 percent of what makes a RD good. Reactivity is a nice feature to have, but it's not near as important as is sensitivity. That said, I'm now running an STi-R Plus that has the best of both and man, this thing is a BEAST!

Aside from the analyzing actual hardware differences you may want to factor in where you live and how your own local LEO's are actually operating. There are BIG differences with region.

For example, I'm convinced that a Redline is the best choice if your main threat comes from the CHP (in California) based on what I have learned about their various tricks over the years (hiding around curves etc..)

Also, keep in mind that NO detector is a substitute for plain common sense.

I just got and been testing Redline for a few days, mostly against K band signs, photo radars and one real KA C/O encounter. Redline alerts quite good on K and KA around the curve+hills with plenty of time to slow down from what I've seen so far, way beyond visual contact with radar source. No real X, I/O or laser encounters so far.

Haven't had any experience with V1.

Get the V1 unless you need (or want) stealth as it is 100 bucks cheaper and has arrows.
