Default Cop doesn't know radar form lidar

So this is kind of a long storie but stick with me. I had to run to work to pick up some books for my class(Im a college student). My work is about fifteen minutes away by interstate and I always have my trusted LI's on with my new Redline to keep me protected. I was coming back to my dorm after picking up the books at work heading on the instate through Des Moines(I-235). I start to go up a hill and get a little bleep of KA so, I kick it down from 73ish to about 62(60PSL). Right when I start to crest the hill I get a last notice from the jammers and the Redline is at full strength KA. I quickly shut off the jammers and see two Des Moines Police officers sitting on the side of the interstate. The cop shooting laser gets back in his car and as soon as I go by the both pull out. They follow me for a few miles across several lanes. I was in the very far left and to move to my exit you have to go across six lanes. The police cars both moved with me across all the lanes. As soon as I get on the exit ramp they both turn on their lights. I start to pull over and one pulls up in front of me and the other is sitting next to the cop car in the lane of traffic. So at this point they have me pulled over and both their lights are on. I roll down my window and they approach from both sides! They asking if I knew why I was getting stopped. I said I have no idea officer. He then proceeds to tell me my university parking tag hanging from my mirror is in violation of iowa law. As the cop goes back to the car to run my information the other cop leans in through my passenger window and sees my radar detector. Swear to god he looks at me and said you something funny boy, my radar gun seemed to not work when you went by. You have any idea why that would be? I said well it is foggy sir, I am not sure how your "Radar" gun works but the fog might be a problem. He looks at me and goes I dont think so son. He said if he ever sees me again he is going to have a car inspected and they will "rip out what ever the **** is in your car". All and all not ticket but got supper freaked out by two power tripping pigs.

He apparently knew enough that his laser gun and wasn't displaying speeds that you had something non-kosher in your car.

I would hate to have two cops ripping up my car's wiring personally.

LOL, just tell him the Redline is a RADAR detector (NOT a jammer).

Better yet, say: "I respectfully decline to make a comment.";"I'm I free to go Sir?";"I donot consent to any searches."(never empty your pockets, or leave your door open). These are the only comments you should make.

I would consider carrying a whoopee cushion and go for the "potty excuse"

I hate the use of such devices (jammers) because sooner or later a knowledgeable cop will suspect that his speed detector device was compromised by your device. Some cops (even a very few) do know how their equipment works and how to use it. He obviously figured this (sudden failure of his equipment) out and wanted to let you know in no uncertain terms.
Because these knowledgeable cops are far and few between, it was bound to happen to you sooner or later. I assume everyone else on the road was speeding but why were you targeted? I bet it was from you sending out an invitation with your jamming device suddenly messing up his unit.
Don't get me wrong - I hate the incorrect use of such speed measuring devices but I chose to take the passive route and rely solely on detecting their equipment signals only. Jamming their equipment is an easy way out but like what happened to you, sooner or later a wise cop will see the problem and act on it. I guess all you can do is be thankful you didn't get a ticket for this or some other reason.
Bottom line - "play with the bull and sooner or later you'll end up with the horns". I know of someone who also uses a jammer and when he was stopped, the event was not a peaceful one and the hassel was not worth it in the end.
DETECT, not interfere, is the best protection from those few cops with more knowledge than you assume.
