    Default 975R front laser sensor

I took front laser sensor outside, just a few cm from the front plate. Before that I took sensor apart and have made shure that water and moisture can't get inside.

Now AL6.5 front head and 975R front laser sensor are outside and I'm happy about that and had to share the info with other people on the group.
Now will see how long it will work...

    Here is a pic:

Hey man, thats very nice pic you got there, excellent placement.

Where is your 975's radar unit placed? Youa ctually don't need the front laser if you have the AL6, why don't u put it somewhere else, maybe higher up next to your rear view mirror to catch a laser scatter? Or at your rear?

How is the 975's range compared to the 550?

Antenna is inside the front bumper, just up from the front plate (between front grill and top of the plate). Also I have Euro550 next to my rear view mirror and the other 975R laser sensor is at rear of my car. So I think laser is covered!

975 warns me a little earlier then 550 (some 100m at K band), but 975 doesn't have Ku band, what is important for me.

Don't know, but will test it soon. As soon as I test it, will post opinion on the forum.

Thanks man! We really would be eager to know how much better the 975R is compared to 550. and also if u end up missing any out of tune multanova's on the 975R but managed to catch it with your 550.

also let us know how the AL6 turns out!

Yeah, the Bel550 and 975R both have narrowband, however, it is guessed/speculated at this time that the EUROPEAN models are tuned for 34.300Ghz +/- 100Mhz, meaning they scan as low as 34.200Ghz to 34.400Ghz

WHILE the USA models scan 34.360Ghz, meaning 34.260Ghz to 34.460Ghz.

The reason we are so interested, is because we have noticed quite a few times now (in fact just the other night) that Multanovas tuned at 34.2X0Ghz , such as 34.24Ghz or 34.22Ghz, are NOT picked up by the USA "34.3Ghz" detectors like the V1 EURO mode. And the Escort and Bel "TECH MODE" display will show the frequency.

So during your tests, if you can, enable the TECH mode to show the actual frequency number on your Bel550, and see what frequency it is. It is not 100% accurate but will give you a good idea what frequency it picked up.

Hope to see your tests soon, as we are deciding between Bel 975R and 996R (975R is over US$100 cheaper and we can buy from Roy!).

A soon as weather over here permits I'll find one and test both RDs. Go to Yahoo Weather and watch for weather in Osijek/Croatia. When sun comes out instead of snow I'll test it.

Really BAD NEWS guys, at least for Croatia!!!

Tested just a half an hour ago and:
    Bel Euro550 Ka: 34.000+34.300+34.700
    Bel 975R Ka:34.360+34.700

Multanova setup really weird! It was directed towards oncoming traffic, but parked car was in front of it!!! P M O <-- (P=police car, O=car, M=multanova, <--=traffic) and multanova was facing parked car!!!

Now really bad news: Both detectors didn't pick it up!!! So I used SuperWideKa on Euro550 and the frequency showed: 34.890 in the first run and in the second 34.950!!!

975R was silent in the both runs! (SuperWideKa was off)

Houston we have a problem! I don't know how can they measure through the parked car! I know that they did measure, cause some 500m down the road was another police car stopping speeders!
