Default Old "expert" needs new advice for an RD

I am in the market again for a new RD and ANYTHING but a V1. I use a V1 in my company car and the amount of false K-readings off of Chevy/GMC ect ect is just unbearable. The Ka range is great. I've heard I can send in for a firmware upgrade as a fix?

Part II to this is I just added a new car to the family and need an RD for that one. Money is not a huge factor here, but less K falsing and EXCELLENT range are my parameters. I can live with/without arrows. I've read that some of the Belscort models now have the car manufacturers K-Band frequencies built in to avoid falsing- is that the case? I am driving mainly in MN and some in WI, ND, SD, IA.

Anyway, I used to be up on all of this stuff from '07-10 when I had an LPP + Bel STi Driver, but have been out of the game for a while. Appreciate the help!

The V1 can be updated to help deal with these K-band falses. They have something now called TMF which really helps.

I believe Escort/Beltronics, though, are leading on this front with their windshield mount RDs. I am particularly partial to the Beltronics GT-7. if you don't need arrows. I recently conducted a test of the effectiveness of their new filtering algos and they are making great strides on this front.

    Good luck!

If folks would program J arrow down (POP off) in the older units to lessen the K noise. It works wonders for me (I find that mostly all of the K trash on the interstate is from semis, not autos). I do not like any delay alg filtering vs I/O....
