Default Re: I need help choosing the product I need

    Hi VG,

Sorry to call you out on this, but I'm too am curious about RedRockets question on this statement you made:

Most online enthusiasts promote the ALP, but they are no longer as mighty as they once were at defeating Dragon Eyes.
If you want to do this private, then that's ok, but I think it would be instructional for you to back this up for everyone here to see.

As for your 4 questions above I can only answer number 4. In playing with lidar devices myself, I can agree that with experience one (presumably any LEO) can defeat any jammer. And that has not changed since the ALP came out. The hope is that by the time the LEO figures this out you've already been alerted, the jammer has done its job and you have adjusted your driving so that the LEO gets a reading in your favor.

    Cheers,

    Ersin

To the OP, do your research carefully. Look for facts, and figures and real testing data, vs innuendo and long written diatribes. For laser jamming the ALPs have proven themselves in independent testing against the most challenging guns.

I'll be happy to have a substantive conversation, either privately (provided it remains private) or publicly, but I am going to propose that we do this one, this way (if it is to be public):

Instead of having to defend myself (ie; be on the defensive), I wish to invert it this time around. - You're required to substantiate the statement you made w/ some fact for the Post above that I have questioned.

RR, please make your assertions, and I can comment on yours, either in concurrence or in dissension. I'd also prefer to keep the spirit of any subsequent discussion in a positive manner. - My assertion is that you are incorrect & I'd like you to state your source (or Test conducted w/ Lidar equipment) for the allegation you have made.

    Thanks.
I am not on the defensive b/c I have not made the false statement, you did - so again, I ask for the facts so I can review them.

I didn't say you were. I'll see if I can put some things out there, like the full jammer results that RALTEC asked Roy to withhold. I'll have to research this one.

Some other information is privileged (shared confidentially by different jammer manufacturers) and unlike some tester actions (you know who you are) that have shared ALP proprietary information to a competitor, I will hold that information as it will come out during the natural progression of things.

However, since you are calling my statement inaccurate, post your reasons why that it so and I am still looking forward to the answers to the specific questions that I had asked. Ersin, who I hold in high regard, at least took a shot of one of them since he was most familiar with that. I believe you should be good on the other three.

One more question. Can you provide with absolute certainty the jamming effective of say the ALP with the following?

    Part 1:

Stalker LZ1 (older "darth vader gun"), I know that has historically given some jammers some trouble (yes I know it is largely out of production)
LTI Truspeed SX(B) all versions, along with an assurance that every known firmware version has been tested
DragonEye ECCM guns ALL versions, along with an assurance that every known firmware version has been tested
Stalker XLR all firmware versions, along with an assurance that every known firmware version has been tested

    Part 2:

Estimated (or measured) jamming efficiencies of each particularly when there is failure
Nature of any failures, such as lack of detection (ie; no alert) and close or long distance punch-thrus, was well as gun combinations that cause instant punchthrough regardless of distance.

Mirage had indicated in a post (maybe it was on RDF) that PTs occurred 'all over the place' although the results provided with the public record hasn't shown this.

As I indicated earlier, I'll check with RB and see about those results that weren't released.

That's about the best I can offer in response to your question.

Finally, while you counterpoint, I'd appreciate based upon your personal experience the limitations that you have actually seen. I'd really like to hear that as I know you've spent more time some of these guns than most.

    Thanks.

I've discussed with the current management and here's what may be most appropriate at this juncture, as you RR have at least been directly associated with RALETC (I know that you are no longer) please request them to release the full results from the April shoot out, all of them, including the results they requested of Roy to hold.

Personally, I think it is better for them to step up to the plate and release them as opposed to me. If and when they do, we can compare the two sets of results that RadarBusters has in its possession and these as yet unseen results so we can see if there are any differences between the two sets of data.

I know you weren't at the event and I wished you were so you could have seen what I've been talking about in previous posts.

I'm glad you are no longer associated with the group for whatever reasons, as I honestly have felt that they have been far too cozy with both the retailers and manufacturers of ALP and Stinger.

Once you see the full results then we can have a more informed discussion about things and this will be the most fair to the consumer wishing to really understanding the strengths and the weaknesses of each product.

I can also say that the community should expect another killer jammer that will be released in the not so distant future that I've been told will address the weaknesses of the existing jammers including ALP and Stinger that has been played down or outright kept out of the public discourse and if I am being told right will shake things up again. Funny thing is it seems that there is a repeated cycle that goes on with jammers with temporary leaders who leapfrog others only to be leapfrog by another. I've seen this play out time and time again over the years.

It is especially interesting that there is always such drama and controversy that surrounds the jammer industry when it is such a small percentage of the overall CM marketplace.

I'm glad you are no longer associated with the group for whatever reasons, as I honestly have felt that they have been far too cozy with both the retailers and manufacturers of ALP and Stinger.- Being a fully Independent Tester suits my persona best.

Once you see the full results then we can have a more informed discussion about things and this will be the most fair to the consumer wishing to really understanding the strengths and the weaknesses of each product.- Perhaps, but it may not be possible in a Public setting.

Funny thing is it seems that there is a repeated cycle that goes on with jammers with temporary leaders who leapfrog others only to be leapfrog by another. I've seen this play out time and time again over the years.- This is interesting, would welcome any Legacy Mfg or newcomer to step-up & meet the challenges of today.

It is especially interesting that there is always such drama and controversy that surrounds the jammer industry when it is such a small percentage of the overall CM marketplace.- Anytime so many personalities are thrown into the mix it seems to breed conflicted opinions everytime.

Just returned from a mini-Can/Am meet in WNY. AL-P was @ the Top of their game against multiple Lidars. One exception to performance was found & a mis-wiring error identified by Testing results. Owner sent me a Text msg as I was departing that he found the mistake & corrected it.
The AL-P would still be my 1st choice if I were shopping today, it easily defeated everything I threw at it last weekend.
