Default V1 and X50 against LTI Ultralyte

2 days ago, me and nvr2fast was driving, and we knew there was a laser trap nearby so we went to check it out.

He was in front of me, and i stayed quite close directly behind him. He had the X50 mounted high, i have the V1 mounted high.

So....he was in front, it was on a bend and at approximately 300 feet the officer shoots laser. My v1 alerted while his X50 didn't, and i was BEHIND him! The officer was obviously targeting him, not me. There were no other cars around. The LTI was on a tripod.

how amazing is that? The v1 managed to pick up the shot even though i was behind him but his X50 didn't pick it up? Perhaps because it was mounted high?

before when i had my x50 mounted low, it had always alerted to laser.

i have read from laserviel.com that all V1's need to be mounted high and will still detect laser, bull all others need to be mounted low to get a better shot at detecting it.

Maybe when you had your X50 mounted low, it was 'seeing' through the windshield(s) of the car in front?

There were no other cars in front of me. We purposely cleared out the road in front of us so we could test this.

The X50 is NOT obstructed by any tint or anything. It just plain did not warn.

The only thing I can say is that the V1... from BEHIND... picked it up.

The LTI was on a tripod. I believe it is even harder to pick up when on a tripod.

And you want to knwo what else? We were on an incline DOWNWARDS (coming off a highway, so our cars were going down the offramp)... so assuming the cop shot my license plate (hence no warning on the windshield) it would have been even HARDER for the V1 to pick up the laser scatter!

So... indeed... the V1's laser detection is UNSURPASSED at this time.

I used to put my x50 low on the windshield, and it would go off for laser, and I've been with my friends and there's go off with laser as well, but when I put it up high, the only time I got clocked with laser it didnt go off. Maybe the cop didnt shoot me, but I was out in front of the pack and I would see him with his window open shooting so I assume the x50 high doesnt work against laser well.
