Default A theory about police Radar?

Jim I would say this is a good question for you.

If Heat and cold effect the calibration of a RD, and I asume its out of calabration because of the L.O. (Is the L.O. on a RD have a crystal??) If yes would the best Temp for the RD would be 80 degrees.

Anyways my theory is, if or RD are effected by heat and cold why wouldnt a police Radar be effected by heat and cold making it go out of calabration making tickets easier to fight, which could mean you could request that the RADAR be checked for calabration errors.

The oscillators don't use a crystal directly.
But in the Belscorts, the 1st LO is calibrated from spurious mixer products involving the 2nd LO, which is crystal referenced.

Sure. In reality it likely won't have that much of an effect. But, a shrewd lawyer or person fighting a ticket might bring it to the attention of the court, as part of their overall defense strategy, and make it sound like much more of an issue than it really is.
