solar powered radar detector?

Battery powered detectors have problems, right? Well, what if the batteries only had to store enough energy for a few hours of driving per day? Solar energy could charge them up whenever the car is in the sun. Radar detectors are mounted on sun visors, after all.

I believe the work involved in making something like a radar detector power up requires enough energy to make the price skyrocket. Also, they came up with rechargable batteries a while ago

BG Tech makes solar powered radar detectors. Same company that makes Cobra and Early Warning...need I say more?

Why have a cord at all when you have all when you are sitting under an unlimited source of power just waiting to be used? Why not use the unlimited free energy source if it can be done? PV cells and batteries are a little more advanced than they were a few decades ago.
