Go with the RX65 but look to a future investment in a jammer

Ka is not used more... the most used band is K right now, but Ka is gaining. The X50 beats the RX65 on K, and the opposite is true for Ka... so it depends on what is used most in your area... either detector is amazing, cant go wrong.

CVR does not have a RX65 (if memory serves me correctly). However he does have the Bel 995, which is nearly identical to the RX65 (as far as detection goes). (He also owns a V1).

I use to use the RX65 on LI but then my father had it stolen and replaced it with a v995 and now i have a V1.

I have had a hard time finding speed traps on LI though

I drive down the 87 from where Vermont is all the way to NYC, I know you're from NY so could you tell me what you find more?
It's good to hear that LI has no speed traps, but I thought it did. My friends that go to SBU told me they see cops all the time.

Don't count on LI not having any speed traps. I always see suckers being pulled over by the cops. Since I don't see many stationary traps (at least no lone cop standing with a gun) I would assume they shoot people from behind while driving ?! Never had a problem but then again I am always listening to my radar detector. Had an RX65 before (it died on me way too early) and it worked well, definitely had better laser detection (then again there was no laser but even falses count...lol) than I have with my current detector but I wanted the convenience of not having to take the detector down each time I get out of the car and then back in, connecting the wire...ugh You get the picture

Again, if you are on LI I would suggest you keep looking in your rearview mirror and direction of radar signal if your detector supports it...
