Default Scooter + K band = No reading

I been driving around campus and sometimes the police puts a speed sign. Every time I drive it does not reads my speed, I'm not 100% sure because I have not been able to try it without cars passing by either on the opposite way or behind me. Just once for like for 30 sec. I was by myself after a car passed it and it said "You speed is 0" but I was really close to it. Also if a have a car kind of far behind me I would drive about 25+ (speed limit 20) but it would still read the car behind me (reading would be 18 - 22).

What do you guys think? Does it filter out my speed because it is not strong enough?

Unless your scooter is made of radar-absorbent material (you know, the stuff on stealth bombers), I'd speculate that you're not driving through the beam's focus, or you're not giving it enough of a return.

I drive like everyone else it should pick it up, but because it is small it might be filtering it out.

I drive through them with my bike, which granted it is larger then your scooter, but not that much larger, but I have never had the experience you are talking about.

I've clocked RC cars and trucks with my K-55. It's more important to get the target square in the radar beam, but it works fine.

I'd think a skateboard with metal parts on it would clock OK.

The speed sign might be set up to ignore weak returns, to minimize erroneous readings. They set them up mainly to measure cars and motorcycles, not scooters and bikes.

Also, depending on how the radar is aimed, you could be missing the area of the road that is being scanned by the radar with your scooter.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

I passed today with my car and I had my RD in Ka 9 all the way, the same way I was going with my scooter. I don't know why they would have it to filter out something as small as a scooter because here many people have one and it is on campus. I just thought it was weird.

It reads it only if I'm by myself. Do the speed sign take the picture??
